Bill and Deb Bray and their daughters, Millie 15, and Lucy 12, live at "Yaringa" amidst undulating green pastures with north easterly slopes and distant rural views. Whilst Deb works "off-farm" as a Speech Therapist for Gippsland Health Services, Bill's entire effort and vision are concentrated on the promotion of the rural industry in Australia, but specifically in Gippsland and Victoria, along with managing his own property and several others.
Bill's personal vision is to continue to improve the genetics of his herd of cattle, and flock of sheep to produce optimum lambs, vealers and yearlings for the domestic market. His accreditation to the E.U. market guarantees that his stock is hormone and growth additive free. Much of Bill's expertise in the livestock industry is utilised in the many organisations he represents, assisting farmers and graziers. His motto is to be efficient at all times with productive organisation, commitment to his property's operations, and to spend quality time with Deb and the girls. He is quick to say that the success of his enterprises is a joint effort with Deb and Paul O'Neill a long time employee. Bill and Deb were the first producers with dual accreditation for both Flockcare and Cattlecare. Bill is President of the VFF Pastoral Group, and a past Member of the Cattle Council of Australia. This led to his interest in research and development. He is a member of the producer initiated Research Evaluation and Development Committee (founded by the Meat and Livestock Australia.)
Bill is a producer member involved with the development of Edge Network, and is Chairman of the State Meat Standards Australia (MSA) Group. Bill and Deb are also Members of the Tarwin Lower Beefcheque Group. The Brays cope with a huge workload for the benefit of the livestock industry, always accepting new challenges whilst completing current issues.
