Inge
and Fred Mitchell
|
Whilst Fred works off-farm, Inge's energies and passions are directed to promoting the clean green image of Gippsland, and its beef in their Restaurant "Sticcado's" at the tourist centre at Yarragon. Many more property owners realise that tourism is now an integral part of most country communities, and Inge is passionate that their restaurant promotes and provides 'Gippsbeef' product to the public, having selectively chosen her chef to further 'value add' to this commodity. Her, aim is to provide an indulgent, congenial sit-down service by day, (and a relaxed 'after five silver service atmosphere) with uncompromising customer service. Parallel to her prime beef menu, secondary cuts will be utilised in their most palatable and visually attractive way.
Whilst the cattle finishing on Inge and Fred's property enjoy their scenic location with valley views and the Baw Baw mountains rising to the North, West and East, plus the Strezlecki Ranges visible to the South, Inge's total focus is with the help of Fred (attending to building and maintenance) and daughters Sasha 19 and Rose 16, as waitresses, to promote "Sticcado's" as a destination restaurant for tourists, and a meeting place for locals to enjoy first hand - beef grown and killed locally. (Inge uses Radfords at Warragul, who are MSA accredited).
Restaurant patrons can be confident that the product offered to them is hormone and growth additive free, the cattle having grazed contentedly on the clean green pastures of Gippsland, their meat then prepared and served at "Sticcado's" to suit each customer's individual taste
