Animal Welfare
Strong welfare ethics have always driven what we do:
Grass-fed - we only supply beef raised on the lush pastures of the high rainfall Gippsland region of Victoria. This gives the beef a rich, grass-fed flavour.
Meat science demonstrates that beef from such grass-fed systems compared to intensive feedlot production systems contain elevated concentrations of Vitamin A, Vitamin E, increased levels of Omega-3, a more desirable Omega-3:Omega-6 ratio, and increased levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), all with favourable biological effects on human health.
Free range – our cattle are healthy, well-fed livestock. They are allowed to roam free, and are carefully managed to minimise stress.
No artificial hormones or antibiotics – Unlike most feedlot-produced beef, Gippsland Natural Beef has been produced with no artificial growth-promoting hormones (HGPs) or prophylactic antibiotics.
